You know, I’ve been in this profession long enough to understand that losing is part of football — but losing like this? Something inside me refuses to accept it. The scoreboard may say 20–26, but that number barely scratches the surface of what actually happened on that field. What I witnessed today was more than a loss — it was a blatant display of bias, disrespect, and intentional harm

Every fan, every player, every observer could see it. When a player charges at the ball, that’s fair. When a player charges at another human being with intent? That’s a choice — a decision to break the rules of respect, decency, and sportsmanship. And yet, after the hit, there were smiles, taunts, and an arrogance that made my blood boil. That’s not football. That’s something much darker, something that violates the very spirit of the game we love.
The scoreboard may tell one story, but it doesn’t reveal the truth behind every whistle, every hesitation, every decision on the field. Today’s game against Southern Methodist ended 20–26, yet the numbers fail to convey the blatant injustice that unfolded. I’ve never seen such a clear demonstration of bias in my career. It’s one thing to lose; it’s another to watch your team suffer under decisions that aren’t just questionable but intentionally skewed.
Every time I saw a player intentionally target another, I felt a mixture of anger and disbelief. A hit isn’t just a hit when the intent is malicious. There’s no accident here. The ball wasn’t the target; a person was. And the reaction afterward? Smirks, taunts, arrogance — visible to everyone watching, undeniable in its impact. How can we call that football? How can we allow such conduct under the guise of “part of the game”?

I am not here to slander anyone. I won’t name names, but everyone who watched knows exactly what I’m referring to. And to the NCAA, I say this: stop hiding behind imaginary boundaries and timid whistles. We all see the so-called “special protections” afforded to certain teams while others are left to endure unjust treatment. You preach fairness and integrity, yet week after week, we witness the opposite — and it is devastating to the players who put their hearts and bodies on the line.
This is bigger than a single game. It’s about the integrity of football itself. If your so-called standards are just empty words, then the game we grew up loving is being betrayed. Our athletes deserve better. They deserve a playing field where skill, preparation, and determination matter — not the arbitrary leniency granted to some while others are punished unfairly.

I refuse to stand by silently. I refuse to allow my team to be trampled under rules that even those enforcing them lack the courage to uphold. Losing is part of football, but being forced to accept injustice is not. Today, we lost, but it wasn’t just a loss — it was a lesson in the fragility of fairness in sports and a stark reminder of why we must speak up.
Football is more than just points on a scoreboard. It’s about respect, discipline, and courage. When those elements are compromised, the heart of the game is at stake. To every coach, player, and fan who has felt the sting of unfair play, I share this message: recognize the injustice, call it out, and refuse to normalize it. This is how the game retains its honor, and this is how we protect the spirit of those who dedicate their lives to it.
We will continue to fight for fairness, for integrity, and for the principles that make football the sport we love. Let today’s events be a reminder: losing a game is painful, but losing the soul of the sport is unacceptable. And I will not stay silent while it happens before my eyes.
